We’ll be showing “Life Itself,” a documentary about the late film critic Roger Ebert, in an advance preview screening at 7:30PM Tuesday, July 1, with a discussion to follow. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this moving, funny film about someone whose impact on film criticism and film culture can’t be denied. For information, click here.
JUST ADDED: I’ll be joined for the post-screening discussion by Eric Kohn, chief film critic and senior editor at Indiewire, and Joshua Rothkopf, film editor of Time Out New York.
Richard Linklater’s “Boyhood” is one of the year’s most uniquely compelling features. Filmed over 12 years with the same cast, it follows one Texas family through their ups and downs, focusing on one boy from elementary school to college. We’ll be screening this film at 7PM Wednesday, July 9, at the Picture House, with producer John Sloss, one of the major figures of independent film for the past 25 years, as guest for the post-screening Q&A. Tickets are available here.
